SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Vondwe XI Bullets have reunited with the well-travelled coach Owen Da Gama ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The amateur outfit confirmed the reappointment of the 64-year-old mentor on Monday, August 10, 2026.
The former Bafana Bafana caretaker coach rejoins the Limpopo-based side, taking over the role of technical director in the upcoming campaign.
“Let’s support our new technical team director,” reads the brief official statement from the club.
This marks a return to familiar territory for the veteran coach, who first joined the club as head coach back in August 2024.
Da Gama’s most recent coaching stint was in the Botswana Premier League with Black Lions FC. He parted ways with the Botswana side in December 2025, having joined them in August of the same year.

Da Gama brings a wealth of experience to Vondwe XI Bullets, having coached a long list of top-flight clubs across Southern Africa. His extensive resume includes stints at Orlando Pirates, Free State Stars, Bloemfontein Celtic, Platinum Stars, Dynamos FC, Highlands Park, TS Galaxy, Sekhukhune United, and Magesi FC.
At the national level, besides serving as Bafana assistant and caretaker coach, Da Gama also led the South African Men’s Under-23 national team.
With Da Gama’s tactical experience and guidance behind the scenes, the side will be aiming to achieve their target of winning the provincial league, securing a spot in the SAFA ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs, and earning promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship in the next term.
HOW VONDWE XI BULLETS FARED LAST SEASON
The club will be eager to improve on their previous campaign. Last season, Vondwe XI Bullets finished seventh in Stream A of the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League, having collected 28 points from 22 matches.
