Betway Premiership side Durban City FC have bolstered their squad with the signings of midfielder Ethan Brooks and Malian left-back Alou Doumbia for the 2026/27 season.
The club confirmed the acquisitions of the pair on Saturday, 15 August, before their league game against Richards Bay FC. The KwaZulu-Natal Derby clash is scheduled for 20:00 at Chatsworth Stadium.
The duo has already joined the rest of the Citizens squad in camp and commenced training under the tutelage of the former Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef.
Brooks makes his return to South Africa following a spell in Greece with Panserraikos during the 2025/26 campaign. The 24-year-old midfielder boasts Betway Premiership experience, having previously turned out for TS Galaxy and AmaZulu FC.
In addition, he also brings valuable international experience, having represented Bafana Bafana before.

Joining Brooks at the club is 23-year-old defender Doumbia, who arrives from Malian top-flight outfit Djoliba AC. Doumbia’s acquisition adds quality and competition to the left-back position, as the club seeks to strengthen its defensive depth.
The two arrivals come as a major boost for Durban City as they aim to solidify their squad for the ongoing campaign.
The club warmly welcomed both players, backing them to make a strong impact now that the new season is officially underway.

“Their arrival adds further depth and competition within the squad as Durban City look to build on the foundations laid during pre-season and continue their progress in the new campaign.”
