AmaZulu FC striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, and Mamelodi Sundowns forward Brayan León have claimed the first Betway Premiership monthly awards for the 2026/27 season following their stellar performances in August.
Ngwenya won the Betway Premiership Player of the Month award after enjoying a stellar start to the new campaign.
The 23-year-old Zimbabwean striker fired Usuthu into fourth place, topping the early scoring charts with a lethal tally of five goals in four matches.
Ngwenya beat off competition from TS Galaxy forward Victor Letsoalo and Orlando Pirates defender Lebone Seema to claim the award.
As things stand, Ngwenya has scored six goals in five league matches for Usuthu thus far.

Pirates head coach Ouaddou was named Coach of the Month after steering the defending champions to an unbeaten opening stretch.
Under his guidance, the Buccaneers collected three wins and a draw from their first four league games in August.
The achievement sees the Moroccan mentor pick up right where he left off, having also won the final Coach of the Month award of the previous campaign in May.
Overall, Pirates sit second on the table with 13 points from five games—three points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who have played six.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns forward Brayan León won the Betway Premiership Goal of the Month award for his spectacular strike against AmaZulu FC.
Leon’s strike came out on top in a competitive voting field that included a free-kick from his Sundowns teammate Teboho Mokoena in the same match, as well as Vincent Pule’s long-range effort for Siwelele FC against TS Galaxy.
