Siphesihle Maduna is set to return to AmaZulu FC after being released by TS Galaxy, with the midfielder now joining Usuthu as a free agent, FARPost has established.
Maduna’s return to Durban had appeared uncertain in recent weeks, particularly after Galaxy initially sought a transfer fee for the 26-year-old. Usuthu had subsequently cooled their interest as talks failed to progress, but the situation changed after the Rockets made Maduna available as a free agent.
That paved the way for the midfielder to return to the club where he began his professional career.
Maduna was notably left out of Galaxy’s squad unveiling in Pretoria most recently, while new signing Siphesihle Tati was handed the No.10 jersey previously worn by him. At the time, the developments pointed towards an impending departure, and Galaxy have now opted to part ways with the midfielder.
Maduna returns to AmaZulu FC, joining a list of new arrivals for the new campaign. Following an impressive fourth-place finish, the club continues to build momentum and reinforce the squad across all departments under head coach Arthur Zwane.
MADUNA RETURNS TO AMAZULU FC
His arrival comes a few weeks after TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi confirmed that the midfielder was finalising a departure, opening the door for his return to Durban.
“We anticipate a move, to be honest. There have been approaches, so we are in talks. When the move happens, we will announce it, or the club concerned will announce it. So, it’s a process,” Sukazi revealed to the media prior to the completion of the transfer.
Among the additions are former Stellenbosch FC duo Omega Mdaka, a promising left-back, and Khomotjo Lekoloane, a highly rated winger. Dynamic midfielder Mcedi Vandala makes the switch from Magesi FC, while experienced right-back Keenan Phillips arrives following his tenure with Golden Arrows.
The midfield gains further depth with the arrival of Gape Morale from Siwelele FC. Between the posts, Usuthu secured Ivorian goalkeeper Faveur Kouassi from Malian outfit Djoliba AC to drive competition in the goalminding department. Completing AmaZulu’s recruitment drive is highly rated Kenyan striker Moses Shumah, who joins the club following a prolific spell with Zambian Premier League champions Power Dynamos.
