Scottland FC star Khama Billiat is weighing up his options ahead of the expiry of his contract, with Tanzania emerging as a possible destination for the Zimbabwe international next season. Information reaching FARPost indicates that Tanzanian Premier League side Azam FC is eyeing the 36-year-old.
Billiat’s contract with Scottland runs until 31 December 2026, when the Zimbabwean football calendar concludes. Azam are understood to be eager to secure his services during the January transfer window.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs attacker is open to testing himself outside Zimbabwe again. He is expected to assess his options before deciding on his next move.
Scottland are also keen to retain his services beyond the current campaign. Further interest from elsewhere in Zimbabwe means a move to Tanzania is far from a foregone conclusion.
BILLIAT IN TOP FORM AT SCOTTLAND
Azam are looking to strengthen their squad for the second half of the Tanzanian season and view Billiat’s experience and versatility as valuable additions.
A January move would allow him to join the Chamazi-based outfit immediately after completing the Zimbabwean campaign. Azam have regularly competed near the top of the Tanzanian league and aim to challenge the dominance of Young Africans and Simba SC.
His performances for Scottland have ensured that interest in his services has not disappeared. Billiat has registered 11 goals and six assists from 23 league starts this season. He is Scottland’s leading scorer, sits joint-third on the league’s goalscoring chart and leads the assists standings.
He has also helped Scottland reach the quarter-finals of the Chibuku Super Cup and Munhumutapa Challenge Cup, while playing an important role in the club’s maiden CAF Champions League campaign.
The former PSL Footballer of the Season joined Scottland ahead of the 2025 campaign. He helped the ambitious Harare outfit win the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title under coach Tonderai Ndiraya in their debut top-flight season.
Billiat has remained central to their title defence, with Scottland locked in a tight race with Hardrock FC. The defending champions have 58 points, one ahead of the Kwekwe side, with six matches remaining.
