Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns star Khama Billiat is letting his performances do the talking ahead of the 2026 Toyota Cup, insisting he still has a lot to offer despite playing away from the Betway Premiership, the league where he made his name.
Billiat, who is spurring Zimbabwean moneybags Scottland FC to the top, will be back in South Africa in a fortnight for the 2026 Toyota Cup.
The talented forward is warming up for the Toyota Cup, which will mark his return to South African soil since parting ways with Amakhosi in June 2023.
This year, Amakhosi’s opponents are the reigning champions of Zimbabwe’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, Scottland FC. Scottland have two prolific former Chiefs stars, Knowledge Musona and Khama Billiat, among their ranks.
But what makes it more interesting is how Billiat, their talisman, has struck the right chords as the country’s PSL reaches its crescendo.
Scottland FC opened a 10-point lead at the top of the league table with 49 points from 22 matches. Their closest rivals, Hardrock FC, have 39 points in second place.
More pertinently, Billiat has been in top form, as he is now joint top scorer with Hardrock FC’s Washington Navaya and Frank Agyemang of Dynamos FC on 11 goals.

On Friday, the 35-year-old notched a brace as they beat TelOne FC 2-0, cementing their place at the top of the log. In turn, he won the Man of the Match award, as he continues to prove he is not yet a spent force.
After winning the award, Billiat said: “It’s difficult because most of our opponents now know us and how we play, but to be honest, we are managing to get the job done, which shows that we still have a lot to offer.”
Meanwhile, the Toyota Cup is entering its third edition. Amakhosi played Tanzanian giants Young Africans at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein in the competition’s inaugural year.
They then hosted Asante Kotoko at Moses Mabhida Stadium in 2025. This time the match will be played at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg on July 26.
