Siphelele Ntshangase is set for a fresh chapter in his career, joining Eswatini’s MTN Premier League newcomers Mbabane Black Eagles alongside fellow South Africans Aichel Calane and Junior Letwaba, FARPost has established.
Black Eagles are a new club in the Eswatini elite league after purchasing the MTN Premier League status of Amawele FC ahead of the current campaign. The club is owned by South African businessman Chief Ally Kgomongwe.
Winger Calane makes the switch to Black Eagles from Namibian outfit Young Africans FC, whose status was sold to Tigers Sports Club.
Meanwhile, defensive midfielder Letwaba joins the Eswatini side from South African Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Magesi FC.
SIPHELELE NTSHANGASE SET TO LINK UP WITH MBABANE BLACK EAGLES
According to a source close to this publication, Ntshangase is set to link up with his new teammates in Eswatini at the end of the week. The 33-year-old joins the club as a free agent.
The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder last turned out for SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Mohlabile United. He joined Mohlabile following a brief stint with Makotopong Bahumi FC in the same division last season.
Ntshangase parted ways with Bahumi after making just a single appearance for the Makotopong-based side in a Nedbank Cup qualification fixture—ironically against Mohlabile United, the team he subsequently joined.
AICHEL CALANE REACTS TO ESWATINI MOVE
Speaking to FARPost, Calane confirmed his move to the Eswatini outfit and expressed delight over his new venture following his spell in Namibia.
“I arrived here four weeks ago and trained with the team for a week. After that, everything was finalised. I even got a chance to play in a cup game last weekend [8Bet Trade Fair Cup]. I’m feeling happy to have signed for the team, and I feel at home already,” Calane told FARPost.
“I’m ready to help the team finish the season in a better position in the league and at least try to win a cup this season.”
