Former Sekhukhune United midfielder Tlotlo Leepile is locked in a clearance battle with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Leicesterford City FC, FARPost has established.
Leepile parted ways with Leicesterford in the January 2026 transfer window, with a year and a half left before the end of his contract at the club.
The talented midfielder spent six months with Leicesterford, having joined the club after signing on a free transfer at the start of the 2025/26 season.
Leepile signed with Leicesterford City after leaving Upington City FC, in which he was one of the key players as the team fought for promotion a few seasons ago.
The Mamelodi Sundowns youth product has been without a club since January 2026 after struggling to obtain his clearance from Leicesterford City.
WHAT TLOTLO LEEPILE SAID ABOUT HIS BATTLE WITH LEICESTERFORD OVER CLEARANCE AND SETTLEMENT AMOUNT

Leepile, who previously featured for teams including NB La Masia, Casric Stars, and Sekhukhune United, revealed to FARPost that Leicesterford has ignored his clearance request.
“I’ve been trying to get my clearance from Leicesterford, and they are refusing with it. On top of that, they are the ones who chose to terminate the contract,” Leepile told FARPost.
“I’ve tried to speak to coach Stanley [Nkoana]; I sent a text, and he’s not replying to my messages. I have been trying since January, but nothing is happening.
“So in January, the team approached me and said they would terminate the contract, and I told them I want a settlement. They agreed and said they would pay me on the 7th of every month, but they have yet to pay me. So I’m struggling to get a team because I don’t have a clearance.”
Efforts to obtain a comment from Leicesterford City FC chairman Lister Makatoane were unsuccessful. FARPost reached out via phone calls and WhatsApp over a two-day period—with one call explicitly rejected—and no response was received at the time of publishing.
