Mamelodi Sundowns right-back Thabang Matuludi has opened up on how rubbing shoulders with seasoned campaigners Thapelo Morena and Khuliso Mudau is shaping his journey at Chloorkop.
Matuludi secured a move to Masandawana from Betway Premiership side Polokwane City FC before the close of the transfer window in September.
As previously reported by FARPost, the Bafana Bafana international put pen to paper on a three-year contract, with Sundowns holding an option to extend for two more years.
The Brazilians beat Soweto giants Orlando Pirates to the defenderโs signature, with the Buccaneers having also chased his services.
Since joining the Miguel Cardoso-led side, Matuludi has already tasted success in domestic and international level. He featured in the 2026 FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup, where Sundowns defeated Saudi Arabiaโs Al Ahli 2โ1 on September 19 to lift the title.
In addition, he featured as Sundowns clinched the MTN8 trophy following a 2โ0 victory over Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 10 October.

THABANG MATULUDI CREDITS MORENA AND MUDAU FOR CAREER GROWTH
Speaking to journalists at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday night, Matuludi acknowledged the wealth of knowledge possessed by his fellow right-backs and emphasised his hunger to grow.
“Well, I had to learn from a player like Thapelo Morena. Obviously, he has been in the game for quite some time. He has a lot of experience, and I have to look up to him in order to improve my game. I believe there’s still room for improvement for me,” said Matuludi.
“Also, like a player such as Khuliso [Mudau], I think he also possesses a lot of experience that I don’t have, and I should learn from him.”
With fierce competition for places in Sundowns’ star-studded squad, Matuludiโs willingness to absorb knowledge from Morena and Mudau positions him well as he looks to cement his place in the team and continue with his fine form.
