Unbeaten run continues as Chiefs DDC side sinks AmaZulu

Neo Bohloko of Kaizer Chiefs in action

Kaizer Chiefs’ reserve side continued their impressive unbeaten run in the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC], extending their winning streak to seven matches following a 3-1 victory over AmaZulu FC at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday.

Chiefs started the game brightly, aiming to extend their winning streak to seven matches this season. Their good start paid off as Neo Bohloko opened the scoring for Amakhosi to make it 1-0.

Just before the half-hour mark, Bohloko completed his brace to double Chiefs’ lead to 2-0, taking his goal tally for the season to eight.
Usuthu pulled one back just before the hour mark to make it 2-1. However, Chiefs sealed the victory late in the second half through Matala Makhubu, securing a seventh consecutive win for Vela Khumalo and his troops.

STELLENBOSCH RETURN TO WINNING WAYS AGAINST MILFORD

Down in the Cape Winelands, wounded Stellenbosch FC welcomed Milford FC on a hot morning. After suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of AmaZulu FC last weekend, the Young Maroons were aiming to return to winning ways against a struggling Milford side that had gone four matches without a victory.

Meanwhile, life after the departure of Dan Malesela began at Chippa United, with Alton Uithaler taking charge of the side against TS Galaxy. The Chilli Boys came from 2-0 down to secure a much-needed point, scoring twice in the second half to salvage a 2-2 draw. It was their second consecutive draw.

Siwelele FC suffered back-to-back defeats following a narrow 1-0 loss to Durban City FC. The KZN side is slowly picking up points, registering their second victory of the season.

Elsewhere, Richards Bay FC got the better of Kruger United at Princess Magogo Stadium. The Natal Rich Boyz and Kruger United went into the break level at 1-1 before Richards Bay scored twice in the second half to secure a 3-1 victory.

The result marked back-to-back wins for Richards Bay, while Kruger United have now gone six matches without a victory.
