Brandon Truter set for PSL return?

Former Moroka Swallows and AmaZulu FC coach Brandon Truter has hinted that he could be returning to the dugout in the next few weeks.

Truter has not been without a club after parting ways with DStv Premiership side Sekhukhune United in November last year.

He left the club after having taken them to the 2023 Nedbank Cup final and subsequently qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup.

In an interview with FARPost, the 2019/20 Motsepe Champions League winner has confirmed that his sabbatical is finished and is ready for a new task.

“I have been involved with football projects here in Cape Town. Cape Town needs a wake-up call and I have been doing what I can in the community. I have also been catching up with modern trends, attending a few online courses and watching a lot of football,” explained Truter.

WHAT KIND OF PROJECT TRUTER IS LOOKING AT?

With a few offers on the table, Truter says his return could be sooner than later.

“I have been talking to a few clubs in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, as well as the DStv Premiership. So we will see. I would love to come in now during the closing stages. Hopefully, you will see me in the next couple of weeks at the team.

“The negotiations are based on coming in now and starting the pre-season and, of course, planning for next season.

“The project has to be enticing as well. It has to make sense to us as well. Whether it’s NFD, where we have to come and gain promotion, or in the PSL, it has to be an ambitious club. But there also has to be a plan where there are good structures in place and create a self-sustaining team. Creating a philosophy that is similar or cohesive with the brand.”
