Pitso Mosimane Soccer schools pleased with ex-players involvement

Director at the Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools (PMSS) programme Moira Tlhagale has expressed her appreciation to former soccer players, who have shown interest in the project.

The Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools initiative began with their coach’s induction in Polokwane on Monday.

11 selected coaches are part of the three-day programme that is taking place at Curro Northern Academy in Limpopo.

The initiative is in partnership with Curro Polokwane and Curro Meridian Cosmo City in Roodepoort, Gauteng.

The programme was established by the former Al Ahly and Bafana Bafana mentor Pitso Mosimane. The ultimate goal is to teach children between the ages of 6 and 18 technically, intellectually, and socially.

NOTABLE COACHES IN ATTENDANCE

Some of the ex-players who have been selected in Polokwane include former Kaizer Chiefs defender Tlou Molekwane.

Well known development football coach Hendrik Mukwevho is also part of the coaches in attendance. Mukwevho is known for producing professional footballers such as Tiyani Mabunda and latest sensation Cassius Mailula.

“One of the key things that we obviously want, importantly, is that our people that we get through a vigorous interview process is a coach that we believe is very much aligned to a development of a young child, boys and girls,” Tlhagale told FARPost.

COACH PITSO MOSIMANE’S VISION AND VISION

“One of coach Pitso’s mission has always been to empower ex-soccer players. Because he believes that in most cases, we have a lot of former players that don’t have anywhere to go after their careers.

“So, we are not surprised actually to see that a lot of our coaches are ex professional players.

“For us, we see that as a positive because it’s people that will obviously carry the philosophy of coach Pitso. But most importantly it’s people who understand soccer,” she said.

“So, we are very excited and we have seen a lot in Gauteng and we are hoping that as we open the Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools all over the country and Africa we will be able to attract more, firstly the right people to work with Children but more importantly people who are also passionate with soccer.”
