Rulani Mokwena wary of Richards Bay’s qualities ahead of DStv Prem clash

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has admitted that is wary of their visit to Richards Bay for their DStv Premiership clash as the side has plenty of quality players. 

The the KwaZulu-Natal outfit will host the Tshwane giants at King Zwelithini Stadium tonight [19:30].

Consequently, Mokwena feels compelled to field his best possible starting XI against the tricky side.

Bafana Ba Style coach believes that the Natal Rich Boyz can put so much pressure on his troops looking at their opposition’s previous performances. 

RULANI MOKWENA WARY OF RICHARDS BAY’S THREAT

“We have had to do a thorough analysis on them because of the type of team they are. They won their last game 1-0 [against Swallows FC] so it won’t be an easy game for us,” Mokwena told the club’s media department. 

“So, when we did the Swallows FC analysis it was like killing two birds with one stone.”

The 34-year-old coach went on to say that their opponents’ position on South African football top-flight says a lot about their character as a team.

RULANI MOKWENA ANTICIPATING INTRIGUING GAME… 

“Seeing where Richards Bay is on the log, their consecutive wins, and their organisation of forms so it will be a very intriguing game because they’ve got very good players,” he added.

“We’re going to ensure that we get ourselves ready for the game because we know they will be ready for battle.”

Masandawana are currently flourishing on the summit of the log standings with 34 points, seven points ahead of second-placed SuperSport United. 

Whereas the KZN club are placed third position on the table with 26 points from 14 outings. 

With all being said, the Brazilians will be hoping to maintain their fine form when they meet the Natal Rich Boyz, while Bay will gunning to extend their winning following their midweek victory against Swallows.
