Rulani Mokwena tips Musa Nyatama for the top as coach

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena has tipped Musa Nyatama of Swallows to become a top coach in South Africa.

Nyatama served as an interim coach for Swallows while Dylan Kerr awaited his work permit.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder, Nyatama continued to steer the ship at the Dobsonville-based side after Kerr was fired last year in October.

Nyatama is also registered as a Swallows player for the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season.

Though Swallows have since appointed Ernst Middendorp as their head coach, Mokwena applauded the work done by Nyatama in the interim and tipped him to come one of the best coaches.

Sundowns beat Swallows 2-0 in a league clash on Tuesday night at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane.

‘MUSA NYATAMA WILL BE A TOP COACH’

“I don’t want to take away the incredible job that Musa Nyatama did in the interim,” Mokwena told the media.

“I think you guys know the feeling I have towards Musa and the closeness we have.

“In terms of the engagements, we were speaking and changing ideas and I learned a lot from him.

“Musa is an incredible prospect for a coach.

“He’s going to be the best probably in this country because of his love for the game.

“But also his knowledge because he built a very strong foundation For Midderdorp.

“But I think the experience of Middendorp will assist Swallows going forward,” Mokwena added.

In the current campaign, Swallows have won three games, drawn four while losing seven times.

They are positioned 14th on the league table with 13 points after 14 games played thus far.

In their next league clash, Swallows will take on Chippa United on Friday evening in Soweto, gunning for maximum points.
