Super League wrap: Ma-Indies continue with fine form
The 2022 Hollywoodbets Super League fixtures continued this past weekend with five matches played over two days.
Three matches on Saturday delivered nine goals and the last two games on Sunday produced seven goals, making it 16 goals scored in total.
Matches involving Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, University of the Western Cape and JVW FC are postponed as they contribute the majority of players to the Banyana Banyana squad that is currently in Morocco for the African Women’s Cup of Nations set to commence next month.
Ma-Indies Ladies continued with their fine form as they got the better of newcomers City Lads 2-1 on their own turf to climb up the log standings.
As things stand, the Limpopo-based outfit are currently placed third on the Super League table with 23 points, just four points adrift of log leaders, Sundowns. Ma-Indies are unbeaten in their last 10 league games.
In other matches, Durban Ladies thrashed struggling Golden Ladies 5-1 at home, whereas First Touch FC played out to a goalless draw with Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies.
Meanwhile, the University of Johannesburg crashed Thunderbirds Ladies 5-1, whilst the Tshwane University of Technology defeated Tsunami Queens with a 1-0 scoreline.
