What Bongokuhle Hlongwane wants to achieve in USA’s MLS

Minnesota United striker Bongokuhle Hlongwane has revealed what he wants to achieve in the Major League Soccer [MLS] in the United States of America (USA).

Hlongwane is confident that he can achieve big things in the 2023 season at his club.

The Bafana Bafana international divulged that he now wants to win the league with his side and make the club’s faithful happy. 

WHAT BONGOKUHLE HLONGWANE WANTS TO WIN BIG

When he was asked in an interview with FARPost what he hopes to achieve in the MLS, the 22-year-old forward said: “My aim is to win the league because I have played in the playoffs [MLS Cup playoffs].”

“Now, I know how they do things in the league. So, I’m well aware of everything. 

“But all in all, I have to win the league and make the fans happy, and score goals for the team.”

The ex-Maritzburg United frontman further stated that he is enjoying his time in America and following Minnesota’s path as the team is very united, solid and ambitious. 

Hlongwane insists he is ready and confident to showcase what he is capable of whenever given the chance by coach Adrian Heath.

BONGOKUHLE HLONGWANE AIMS TO PLEASE…  

“Whenever I go to the game, either it is home or away, I have to make the club’s fans happy. I have to bring happiness to them every time I play. Even though I don’t score my contribution to the team on the day should make them happy,” He added.  

“When we are talking about playing, I have to give them my level best because they come out in numbers and so that is why I have to make them happy.”    

Last season, the talented player played a total number of 30 games across all the competitions and weighed in with five assists and scored two goals in the process. 

The speedy forward joined the MLS side in January 2022 on a three-year deal with a one-year option.

He made his debut against Philadelphia Union on February 26 last year.
