AmaZulu announce new coaches for youth football Project 2032
AmaZulu Football Club have announced the new coaches for the club’s development with intentions to accomplish their vision for Project 2032.
Nine years from now, Usuthu will be celebrating 100 years of existence and have come up with a project where they want to invest in their development.
They have brought on board the coaches who’ll be working at the club’s different structures in the development to nurture talent.
The notable names among the new members are the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane, former Tottenham Hotspur defender Mbulelo Mbabizela and former Orlando Pirates midfielder Andile Cele.
The club also introduced two female coaches Tawoli Banda and Amanda Sithole [strength and conditioning] as it seeks to promote women’s empowerment in football.
Other coaches are Aubrey Vilakazi [goalkeeper coach], Bryce Peterson, and Nqoba Mdladla.
The club’s Non-Executive Director Mfundo Zungu explained how the club is planning at achieving the vision.

“You’ve been hearing the president speaking about Project 2032 which will be the club’s centenary year, where he wants the club in terms of results, achievements, trophies, and as a brand,” Zungu said during the club’s press conference.
“His wish for the club is that by 2032, the majority of that first team would be a homegrown talent. 2032 is not far away, it’s nine years away.
“To realise this and all that the president has of having the quality squad by 2032, the time is now to act. We have to be intentional about what we’re doing, things won’t happen by fluke and nothing happens by luck.”
Zungu went on to emphasise that all the coaches that were unveiled were there on merit. He believes they understand what is expected of them and the vision for Project 2032.
‘EVERYONE IS HERE ON MERIT’
“These guys [Youth Technical Directors] went through hundreds and hundreds of CVs and went down to hundreds of interviews and presentations. We had a trial week for the coaches three weeks ago,” he added.
“These are the guys who put in their CVs and went through interview processes. Everyone here is on merit.”
AmaZulu also promoted Celo Mbanjwa to be the Co-Youth Technical Director along with Ronnie Moroka. Mbanjwa joined the KZN-based club last year and initially served as an assistant Youth Technical Director.
