Ashley Du Preez: ‘I’m not happy at the moment’
Kaizer Chiefs attacker Ashley Du Preez has explained why he’s not happy at the moment with his form at the club.
Du Preez who joined the Soweto giants ahead of the current DStv Premiership season has been inconsistent in front of goal blowing hot and cold missing clear cut chances.
This has led to a backlash with the Amakhosi faithful.
In 24 appearances in all competitions, the speedy forward has scored seven goals and provided five assists.
WHY DU PREEZ IN NOT HAPPY
According Du Preez he hasn’t reached his target he set at the beginning, but the goal is still attainable with six matches left to conclude the season and Chiefs are still in the Nedbank Cup
“I think I can do more, I’m not happy at the moment. There are six games to go and a cup game. My goal is to score in every game,” said Du Preez.
“I haven’t achieved my goal, but at the beginning my goal was to score 10 goals in the season. I’m on four goals in the league, in all competitions I think seven.
“I think I just need to learn to score more goals and practise.
DU PREEZ ON PLAYING FOR A TEAM LIKE KAIZER CHIEFS
Du Preez further explained the difficulty of playing for a team of Kaizer Chiefs calibre compared to Stellenbosch FC.
“When I played at Stellenbosch I was been doing well because we were free. I’m not saying it’s a small club but I think you will be in the comfort zone.
“I moved out of my comfort zone. I’m at the big club so it’s a lot of pressure, I’m learning a lot. I think the players around you are also playing a huge role.”
