SuperSport United sign Zukile Kewuti

SuperSport United has confirmed the signing of the midfielder Zukile Kewuti on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old joins Matsatsantsa on a six-month-deal that will run until the end of the season.

Kewuti becomes the first acquisition for the Swanky Boys this transfer window.

The Cape Town-born was offloaded by Maritzburg United few weeks ago before resurfacing at SuperSport United.

He was reportedly invited by the club’s head coach Gavin Hunt who’s continuing to bolster his squad as he looks to revive the Tshwane outfit fortunes.

The former Cape Town City man only made 19 appearances and found the back of the net on occasion during his stay at the Pietermaritzburg-based club.

KEWUTI REACTS TO SUPERSPORT UNITED MOVE

“I’m grateful and happy to be here, I’m grateful to be at the team that has so much ambitions,” he said during his unveiling at SuperSport.

Kewuti was part of the team that had a mini camp in Durban during the FIFA World Cup break.

He says he has farmiliarised himself very well with the new environment and the team while speaking highly of his new mentor Gavin Hunt.

‘I’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO WORK WITH GAVIN HUNT’

“I’m engaging very well, I’ve read a lot of characters. I know who has what strength and what not,” he said.

“Working with Gavin Hunt is a pleasure, I won’t lie. I’ve always wanted to work with Gavin.

“He’s a coach with ambition, he loves winning, it seems like winning is a first priority to him, so ja, I’m willing to work under him.”

Kewuti has sent a special message to the SuperSport faithful and promised to help the club to achieve its objectives this season.

“Matsatsantsa supporters, I found the team in the number two spot, for me we won’t drop any points.

“We’ll go forward where we are now, hopefully to win trophy or two this season.”
