Bloemfontein Celtic set for PSL return

Bloemfontein Celtic is set for a return in the PSL as Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM] chairman Masala Mulaudzi is contemplating changing his club’s name to ‘Siwelele’.
TTM boss Mulaudzi has revealed how much it will cost for his club to change its name to Celtic
Mulaudzi has made it clear that he is eager to change TTM’s change to Celtic since the Limpopo club recently relocated to Mangaung in the Free State.
According to the Companies and Intellectual property commission records, the entity Bloemfontein Celtic is owned by Samuel Matlabe Tshabalala, commonly known as ‘Max’.
Although Celtic’s PSL status was sold to Royal AM in 2021, the name of the club remained under Tshabalala.
“Name [change] is something that must be considered, and we are working on it,” Mulaudzi told Free State Online Channel in an exclusive interview.

“You can’t be having Vhadau vha Damani somewhere in Bloemfontein and you bring the Lions here. You know that here you are the Tigers for that matter.
“So obviously the Lion and Mangaung don’t click so the name Bloemfontein is meant to be used. We are praying that we can hopefully use the name,” Mulaudzi explained.
STUMBLING BLOCK IN RENAMING TTM TO BLOEMFONTEIN CELTIC
Mulaudzi further explained what might hinder his plans. “But it’s just unfortunate that the ones who have the trademark of the name are saying we must buy it for about R5 million,” he revealed.
“So we are still considering whether we can afford to buy the Bloemfontein Celtic for R5 million or not.
“But we are willing; if the community of Bloemfontein is supporting us, we are willing to buy the name to resuscitate the indigenous way of doing things in the region.
“TTM is a club that belongs to Limpopo. We are in another province, so we need to do what the Romans do.”
The home colours of TTM have also changed and will now use Celtic’s traditional green. They have, however, kept their red and blue jerseys for the away games.
The club has kept all their players and got a boost with eight players from Royal AM joining on loan.
