Why Jackson Mabokgwane chose Leopards over five other offers
Veteran goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane has revealed why he was persuaded to choose Black Leopards over other offers.
The former Orlando Pirates Keeper has signed for the Malamulele based side until the end of the season. The move comes after Jackson Mabokgwane parted ways with Leopards rivals Baroka.
WHAT CONVINCED JACKSON MABOKGWANE
The 33-year old tells FARPost there was a lot of interest in his services but it was Leopards’ chairman David Thidiela who convinced him on the move.
“Yah it’s about four or five teams that we were talking to or that enquired. But for me Black Leopards and the chairman gave me a call and he was persistent and very patient with me,” he said.
“I then believed that he really, really wants my services and he really values me. So yah it was just the persistence from the chairman to continue to persuade me to come. I believe that I made the right decision.
ON SETTLING IN MALAMULELE
“I’ve been settling in well, everybody has welcomed me well. And I would like to thank the whole Black Leopards family for the warm welcome, I’m settling in well.
“Although it is quite different, it’s quite intense this side it’s very hot so I’m just adjusting but I will be okay “
ON LEOPARDS’ PROMOTION CHANCES
“Yes absolutely, I’ve actually played against them and I’ve watched a few matches. So I already know the kind of quality they have in their team. The log position is not a true reflection of their performances.
“I’ve trained with them and we played one game so far so I definitely believe that we were definitely competent.”
Meanwhile, midfielder Siphele Ntshangase is still training with the club but a decision is yet to be made. Ntshangase is hoping to revive his once promising career after failing to attract interest from clubs in recent times.
