PSL club’s relocation to Free State as good as done
PSL side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila are set to complete their relocation from Limpopo to Free State in the next week or so. This is according to club president Masala Mulaudzi.
TTM have been threatening to move away from Thohoyandou, where they are based, due to the unreasonable costs of playing there. This is coupled with the well-documented financial troubles that have rocked the club.
The club has now officially written to the Premier Soccer League for approval of the relocation and awaits approval on the way forward. If approved, TTM will play their home matches at Dr Petrus Stadium in Mangaung as early as next month.
PSL TO HAVE FINAL SAY ON TTM MOVE
“We are far advanced. It’s a matter of priority. We are looking forward to the processes to unfold,” Mulaudzi told the media in Thohoyandou on Sunday.
“An application has already been sent to the PSL to move the team to Bloemfontein. The team is not sold at the moment, and it’s not going to be sold, but the team will relocate,” he confirmed.
“If things go well, probably it’s going to happen in the next week or two. The application has been forwarded to the league, and the league has to determine on the 26 of January when the Executive committee meets.”
ON MOVING THE CUB AWAY FROM HIS HOME PROVINCE
“I am not disappointed at all because I think we have contributed enough to the local community. To a certain extent where we don’t have enough support from the leadership,” added Mulaudzi.
“Our home games cost us more than the away games. For home games, we spend R 150 000, while for away games, we spend R 100 000. So we can’t afford to be at home. We always prefer to play away rather than home.”
