Mamelodi Sundowns set to unveil another signing

Mamelodi Sundowns are soon set to unveil another big signing of the transfer window as they continue to prepare for the upcoming season.

The Brazilians are bolstering their squad to return more robust in the next campaign, with the club aiming for CAF Champions League and domestic trophies.

They have already announced the signings of Lesiba Nku from Marumo Gallants and Junior Mendieta from Stellenbosch FC.

The versatile 27-year-old Nku penned a five-year deal with Masandawana while the club is yet to reveal the duration of Mendieta’s contract.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS TO UNVEIL ANOTHER SIGNING

As first reported by iDiski Times, the Tshwane giants have wrapped up the signing of the Brazilian midfielder Lucas Ribeiro Costa.

Now, FARPost understands that the left-footer has landed in South Africa to join the club as they have begun preparing for the upcoming season. Costa landed in OR Tambo, Johannesburg on Tuesday at 4:40 pm and went to Chloorkop.

This website understands Sundowns are likely to unveil him before the end of this week.

The 24-year-old joins the DStv Premiership champions from the Belgian outfit SK Beveren where he played 43 matches, netted 13 goals and noted 10 assists. He has also had stints with Royal Excel Mouscron, RWD Molenbeek, RSC Charleroi, Royal Excelsior Virton and Valenciennes FC.

SUNDOWNS’ DEPARTURES SO FAR

Meanwhile, Sundowns have officially parted ways with three players in Andile Jali, Haashim Domingo and Lesedi Kapinga. The club could also wave goodbye to two former Cape Town City stars Lyle Lakay and Surprise Ralani.

Further, Steve Komphela, who was the First Team coach, also left Bafana Ba Style to take up a head coach role at Swallows FC. In a shock switch to Soweto, he took over from Musa Nyatama who was going to spearhead the side next season.
