Grant Magerman’s wish granted as he completes permanent move
Highly-rated midfielder Grant Margeman has had his wish granted after completing a permanent move ahead of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
After joining Mamelodi Sundowns at the start of the 2020/21 season, he has spent the last two seasons away on loan. He spent the 2021/22 season at Swallows before starring for SuperSport United last season.
The Cape Town-born star made it clear he wanted a permanent move to focus on his game.
Margeman’s future has been the subject of speculation for a while as many clubs were looking to sign him.
The talented midfielder was discussed in the Stellenbosch FC corridors during the current transfer window. He was viewed as a player who could take over the midfield position in case Sibongiseni Mthethwa leaves the club. Mthethwa is on the radar of both Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.
GRANT MARGEMAN JOINS SUPERSPORT UNITED ON A THREE-YEAR DEAL
This publication can confirm that he has joined SuperSport on a long-term deal.
“The deal between Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United in Grant Margeman is done,” his agent Ntobatsi Masegela told FARPost.
“It’s a permanent move to SuperSport because the player had to find a stable home and not go on loan every season.
“Obviously he has done extremely well with SuperSport in the last season and the club values him and his qualities.
“So it was just a matter of SuperSport meeting personal teams for the player and the deal go through,”
Margeman is likely to be announced by Matsatsantsa before the weekend as they are gearing up for the upcoming domestic season and the CAF Confederations Cup.
Meanwhile, SuperSport have also signed Phathutshedzo Nange who was recently released by Kaizer Chiefs, Siphesihle Ndlovu and Ronald Pfumbidzai.
Ndlovu was signed from Pirates whereas Pfumbidzai signed a pre-contract in January from Chippa United.
Furthermore, the Tshwane-based outfit lost one of their key players in Patrick Maswanganyi who was snapped up by the Buccaneers. Whereas Thapelo Maseko is on his way to Sundowns.
