Two ex-Pirates players among trialists at AmaZulu FC

Two former Orlando Pirates players are among the trialists training with AmaZulu FC first team under the watchful eye of Pablo Franco Martin.

It looks like Usuthu aren’t done in the market as they aim to replace the players they let go of ahead of the start of the DStv Premiership season. Last week, the KZN outfit issued a list of 15 players who parted ways with the club.

On the other hand, they have only wrapped up nine signings so far including Wayde Jooste, Rowan Human, Victorien Adebayor, Celimpilo Ngema, Siyanda Hlangabeza, Victor Letsoalo, Mlondi Mbanjwa, Andile Kwanele Mbanjwa and Mfanafuthi Mkhize.

Last week, FARPost reported that Phumlani Ntshangase was under assessment at the Durban-based club. Prior to training with AmaZulu, the midfielder spent some time with Maritzburg United. And he also took part in the KZN Premier’s Cup in the colours of Team of Choice.

Ntshangase has been joined by the former Orlando Pirates duo Tebogo Tlolane and Collins Makgaka and former SuperSport United defender Denwin Farmer. Tlolane and Makgaka parted ways with the Buccaneers at the end of the last campaign

Tlolane spent the last six months of the previous season with Maritzburg United. And he left the club at the end of the loan spell in June.

Makgaka, on the other hand, only made four appearances across all competitions for the Soweto giants last season. Before he came to AmaZulu, he was training with Stellenbosch FC as previously reported by this website.

He has also been linked with the newly-promoted Polokwane City FC.

Meanwhile, Farmer made only three appearances for Babina Noko in all competitions last season. His contract was going to expire in June 2024. However, the Limpopo outfit decided against keeping him for the next season.
