Ntseki gives his verdict on Colombian striker Gonzalez

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki has given his verdict on the club’s new signing, Efmamjjasond Gonzales Palacios, ahead of the Colombian’s debut in the DStv Premiership.

Gonzales joined Chiefs on a season-long loan with an option to buy from Bolivian Primera Division club Real Santa Cruz.

The striker has scored eight goals in 16 starts for Santa Cruz this season.

The 24-year-old had a warm welcome at the Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena on Wednesday.

Gonzalez has already hit the ground running at Amakhosi, as he has started training with the side, and Ntseki is impressed by what he has seen so far.

Gonzalez will become the second Colombian player to don the Amakhosi jersey, after Leonardo Castro, who left the side in July 2022.

The Colombian forward will don jersey number 14 at the club.

MOLEFI NTSEKI IMPRESSED BY EFMAMJJASOND GONZALEZ

“We are very happy to have him, and we are looking forward to his availability for selection,” said Molefi.

“He looks sharp. I think he will come in and gel on well with the boys in terms of tactical understanding.

“But what we have seen of him, and what we’ve seen today, he looks to be the player who will definitely come in and help the club.”

With that being said, Gonzalez will be expected to be a solution to Chiefs’ goalscoring problems. The team creates chances but fails to convert them.

KAIZER CHIEFS’ NEXT ASSIGNMENT

This afternoon, Chiefs will welcome AmaZulu at FNB Stadium in a DStv Premiership clash. The game will kick-off at 17:30.

However, Gonzalez is most likely to feature in today’s game despite the fact that he just arrived at the club. Therefore, it won’t be a surprise to see him making the cut into the matchday squad.
