Sekhukhune United sign former Yanga SC striker

Sekhukhune United have completed the signing of a former Yanga SC striker to bolster their forward line, FARPost can reveal.

Having parted ways with the likes of Tshegofatso Mabasa and Victor Letsoalo, Brandon Truter only has Chibuike Ohizu and Tashreeq Morris as men to rely on upfront.

Babina Noko are competing in the CAF Confederations Cup this season. And the yoke to rattle the back of the net would have been too much for Morris and Ohizu.

The Nigerian forward has managed to score three goals already in six games in all competitions while Morris hasn’t scored after taking part in just two matches.

Sekhukhune have then reinforced their striking department, bringing on board the Ghanaian striker Michael Sarpong, FARPost has learnt.

The 27-year-old man was on trial for a month at Babina Noko and he’s done enough to impress the club.

The player has put pen to paper and is now waiting for a work permit before he starts his journey in the DStv Premiership.

SEVEN CLUBS THAT SARPONG HAS PLAYED FOR

Sarpong is a well-traveled striker having played in six countries. He started at Dreams FC in his native Ghana before he moved to Rayon Sports in 2018 in Rwanda.

In 2020, he made a switch to Tanzanian football when he signed for Yanga on a free transfer. However, it was a short-lived stint as he spent only 12 months.

He also plied his trade in Saudi Arabia when he turned out for Al-Nahda FC in 2021 before he returned to Rwanda six months later, signing for AS Kigali.

Sarpong also spent six months with the Ethiopian side Wolaicha Dicha in 2022 prior to moving to Suez SC in Egypt in January this year.
