Orbit College maintain unbeaten run while Magesi FC beat Maritzburg
Orbit College maintained their unbeaten run in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after playing out to a goalless draw against University of Pretoria on Friday at the Giant Stadium in Soshanguve.
The North West-based side; Orbit College, who were promoted from the ABC Motsepe League to the NFD at the start of 2023/24 season dropped points for the first time this campaign.
Prior to playing a draw against AmaTuks, Orbit College collected maximum points in four successive games in the league.
Amongst teams beaten by Orbit College are Platinum City Rovers, Milford FC, Black Leopards and Upington City. They are positioned top of the log with 13 points after five matches.
MAGESI FC END MARITZBURG UNITED UNBEATEN RUN
Elsewhere, Magesi FC handed Maritzburg United their first loss of the season after beating them 2-1 on Friday at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
Maritzburg were relagated from the DStv Premiership last season after poor showing during the 2022/23 campaign.
Meanwhile, Black Leopards collected their first three points of the season after walking away with a slender 1-0 win over Upington City on Saturday at Thohoyandou Stadium.
Baroka FC continued their winless run in the second tier after playing to a 1-1 draw against Casric Stars at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.
The Limpopo-based side saw three of their games in the Championship end with draws while losing another two.
Bakgakga are languishing 14th on the league table with three points after five games played.
In addition, JDR Stars brushed aside ex-PSL side Marumo Gallants with a 2-1 victory at Giant Stadium on Saturday.
