Komphela picks a DStv Premiership midfielder close to Andile Jali’s level

Moroka Swallows coach Steve Komphela has picked a DStv Premiership midfielder that he rates highly close to Andile Jali’s level.

Over the past seasons, Jali has been a top performer in the PSL from his days with Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, and now with Moroka Swallows. To add, he has had his fair share with Bafana Bafana and overseas.

This season with The Dube Birds, the 33-year-old has been a key and core player in the team. The skipper has always displayed great, consistent performances each time he’s in the middle of the field.

So far, since joining the Soweto side ahead of the current campaign, Jali has made 11 appearances in all competitions.

STEVE KOMPHELA PICKS KAMOHELO MOKOTJO AS A MIDFIELDER ALMOST AT PAR WITH ANDILE JALI

Komphela claims that Sekhukhune United midfield engine Kamohelo Mokotjo is not far from Jali’s level.

Jali is yet to hit top form as he was out of action for quite some time after he parted ways with Sundowns in the middle of last season. On the other hand, Mokotjo returned to the PSL last season following a long injury layoff which left him without a club as a free agent.

“[Kamohelo] Mokotjo from Sekhukhune United is not far off from AJ [Andile Jali] in that position [defensive midfielder],” said Steve Komphela.

“If by any chance one could have a dream where the two could play together, you will have a hell of a great match. Those midfielders are amazing, they are calm and their passes break any possible wall put in front of them. They are great players.

“The best defensive midfielders are unseen and invincible. The minute you start seeing them, then it becomes a problem.”
