Masibusane Zongo’s biggest career lesson

Wayward footballer Masibusane Zongo has revealed his biggest career lesson after his repeated struggles over the years.

Zongo has been given yet another chance to revive his career as the attacker was recently signed by SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Munaca FC from Oriented Birds in the Western Cape.

The 33-year-old has played for top-flight clubs such as SuperSport United, Bidvest Wits, Chippa United, Platinum Stars, and recently Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM].

Zongo has a long history of off-field issues at different clubs despite being given plenty of opportunities to bring to life his career.

A CAREER LESSON THAT OPENED MASIBUSANE ZONGO’S EYES

In an interview with FARPost at the club’s training grounds in Louis Trichardt, Limpopo on Thursday, Zongo detailed how being in the wilderness has taught him some valuable lessons.

“Honestly it’s the amazing God that I praise. I come from a family that believes in God which is my Mother and sister. We pray so much at home and when it comes to the football industry,” he said.

“There are positives that come from not playing. How to see life outside of football because I grew up in the football industry since I was 11 years old.”

FORMER PSL STAR GRATEFUL FOR FAMILY SUPPORT STRUCTURE

“On the negative side, things become difficult because you are used to a certain lifestyle. Now you have to adapt to a new lifestyle. You actually get to see the people that actually love you, I think that’s what I have learned the most.

“Your surroundings must always know who is around you. Who is always there and never take for granted the people who actually love you, talking about your family.”

The former DStv Premiership star added: “I think that one core that keeps me going is my family, which is my mom, sister, daughter, and my nephew.

“So other than that those are the people that still believe in me. They have always pushed me to come back to football. Otherwise, I love the game and I am passionate about the game. I am looking forward to this coming season.”
