Dinha reveals Orlando Pirates’ strongest point under Jose Riveiro

Former Orlando Pirates captain Edelbert Dinha has revealed the club’s strongest point under the guidance of coach Jose Riveiro.

Pirates’ performances have improved greatly since the Spaniard mentor took charge of the PSL giants ahead of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership campaign.

‘The Happy People’ have become ‘cup specialists’ after winning back-to-back MTN8 titles and the Nedbank Cup last season.

Riveiro has the backing of the management as they have ensured that they bring in quality players that are of Pirates’ calibre.

The retired midfield engine has hailed the Sea Robbers’ midfield options, saying it’s their strongest point in the team.

“They have assembled a good team, and I’m impressed with the midfield options that we have,” Dinha told FARPost.

“They [midfielders] just have to be consistent in their peformances game-after game. Also the coach Jose Riveiro is very good for the team.

“Pirates got good-solid midfielders in Miguel Timm, Thabang Monare, Phillip Ndlondlo and Fortune Makaringe, Makhehleni Makhaula, Katlego Otladisa and Karim Kimvuidi.”

Dinha went on to single out Kimvuidi as the midfielder who has been a standout performer for him this season.

A few weeks back, coach Riveiro also singled out the midfielder for doing a great job on the pitch, stating that Kimvuidi has all it takes to be a great player.

In Pirates colours, the 21-year-old has played 13 matches in all competitions and found the back of the net once.

“Also, they got the midfielder they got from Maritzburg United, Kimvuidi. Such a talented player, he performs very well, and he only needs to be consistent. This will help him to unlock his full potential and reach his highest level,” he added.
