Baroka FC makes late push for DStv Premiership promotion

Baroka FC claimed a vital win against Upington City FC on Tuesday, making a late push to secure a spot in the PSL Promotional Playoffs as they look to return to the DStv Premiership next season.

The Limpopo-based side beat Upington 1-0 at Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium to take their point tally for the season to 42 points to move third on the log.

It was Baroka FC’s second successive win in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after defeating Hungry Lions FC 2-1 last weekend.

Elsewhere, Maritzburg United stumbled in their race to finish in the Promotional Playoffs spot after playing to a 1-1 draw against Venda FC. The draw against Venda FC left Maritzburg on the fifth position with 39 points.
