Rulani Mokwena makes it four in a row, Jermaine Seoposenwe on target

SA coach Rulani Mokwena made it four victories in a row for Wydad AC in the Botola Pro 1 on Sunday night at home, whilst Banyana Banyana star Jermaine Seoposenwe was on target for CF Monterrey – Rayadas.

The emphatic victory saw Rulani Mokwena’s Wydad remain fourth on the log standings with 36 points from 20 outings. Mokwena’s side has registered 10 victories, six draws and suffered four defeats.

Thembinkosi Lorch, on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, made his debut for Wydad when he came off the bench in the 64th minute. He came close to scoring for Rulani’s side in the 85th minute.

Another Bafana player who featured in the game was Cassius Mailula. He played 90 minutes and grabbed a secondary assist.

Meanwhile, in Mexico, Seoposenwe scored the third goal for CF Monterrey as they thrashed Necaxa 4-0 on Thursday at home in the Liga MX Femenil. It was her fourth goal of the season.

Khanyisa Mayo came in as a late substitute as CR Belouizdad were defeated 4-3 on penalties by MC Alger in the Algerian Super Cup on Saturday at Stade du 5 Juillet. The match had ended 2-2 after 90 minutes. This was coach Sead Ramovic’s first game after parting ways with Tanzanian giants Young Africans. Mayo scored his penalty during the shootout, but it doesn’t enough to help his side.

Winger Elias Mokwana featured 70 minutes for Esperance on Saturday as they defeated Stade Tunisien 1-0 at El Hédi Enneifer Stadium in the league. Percy Tau played 81 minutes for his new club, Qatar SC, on Friday as they thrashed Al Ahli SC 3-0 in the Qatar Stars League at Al Thumama Stadium.

Simba SC coach Fadlu Davids stretched his unbeaten run in the league to 11 matches on Thursday. They drew 1-1 against Singida Big Stars at Kwaraa Stadium. In 11 outings, Davids has registered a massive 10 victories and drew one match.

As for starlet Shandre Campbell, he was an unused substitute for Club Brugge. Brugge defeated Oud-Heverlee Leuven 1-0 in the Belgian Pro League on Saturday at home. Campbell was recently promoted to the first team after impressive displays with the reserve team Club NXT last season.

Bafana defender Siyabonga Ngezana also didn’t feature for FCSB on Sunday. The Romanian champions defeated Sepsi 3-0 in the league at National Arena.

Banyana Banyana defender Noko Matlou featured for 90 minutes for Cacereno Femenino. Cacereno edged Deportivo Alavés Gloriosas 3-1 on Saturday in the Spanish Primera Federacion at home. Hilda Magaia was in action as Club Tijuana Femenil defeated Club Santos Laguna Femenil 3-1 in the Liga MX Femenil away from home.

Attacker Noxolo Sesane also played the entire match for Eastern Flames on Saturday. Flames defeated eight-man Al-Taraji Club 2-1 at Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Stadium in the Saudi Women’s Premier League.
