As curtains came down in the SAFA KZN ABC Motsepe League over the weekend, Midlands Wanderers booked their spot in the provincial playoffs, where they face Mkhambathi FC.
Wanderers played to a 1-1 draw with Njampela FC at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg, on Saturday afternoon. Wanderers came into this match needing a draw to progress to the playoffs.
As a result, Wanderers were crowned Stream A champions with 37 points from 18 games, just a point ahead of second-placed Umvoti FC.
The side will take on Mkhambathi in the provincial playoffs to determine who will represent KZN at the ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs and stand a chance to gain promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship for next season.
Mkhambathi won Stream B with 52 points from 18 outings. They also finished the season without losing a match, securing 17 wins and one draw.
The date for the provincial playoffs will be confirmed by SAFA KZN in due course.
