Former Stellenbosch FC defender Liam De Kock has resurfaced at AmaZulu FC, in pursuit of a fresh start for the upcoming Betway Premiership season.

The KZN-based side is currently in a pre-season camp in Limpopo, preparing for the highly-anticipated 2025/26 campaign.

AmaZulu have been one of the busiest teams in the transfer window in a bid to build a solid team under the guidance of head coach Arthur Zwane.

A few weeks ago, Usuthu released 16 first-team players in a major squad overhaul. Amongst the notable players that were axed by AmaZulu are Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Abbubaker Mobara, Boniface Haba, and Augustine Mulenga.

Interestingly, AmaZulu have since made a U-turn on the exit of Haba, and the striker has rejoined the team in camp. In this transfer window, AmaZulu signed goalkeeper Darren Johnson from Chippa United and Ryan Moon from rivals Golden Arrows.

Meanwhile, AmaZulu have been threatened with legal action by Cape Town Spurs if they donโ€™t follow the โ€˜rightโ€™ channels to sign their defender Liam Bern.

Despite CT Spurs ordering Bern to return to training to honour his existing contract, the talented left-back has travelled with the Durban outfit for their pre-season camp in Polokwane.

AmaZulu are looking to bolster their squad even further after welcoming De Kock, who parted ways with the Stellies last week.

The Stellenbosch DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] graduate was let go after the club decided against renewing his contract.

De Kock left the Maroons alongside experienced defenders Brian Onyango, Ismael Toure, and Shaakir Ahmed.

With the start of the new campaign fast approaching, AmaZulu are likely to sign more players to build a formidable side. It remains to be seen whether De Kock will impress the AmaZulu technical team and earn a contract.
