Orlando Pirates have solidified their top spot in the DStv Diski Challenge [DDC], while Mamelodi Sundowns are keeping up the pressure as both sides secured important victories this weekend.
The Buccaneers secured a 2-1 win over AmaZulu FC at the UJ Soweto Campus on Saturday. As a result, the Sea Robbers have extended their lead at the summit, maintaining a healthy gap in the DDC title race.
As it stands, Pirates occupy pole position with 66 points after 27 matches. However, it is still too early for the Soweto giants to get their hopes high, as the Brazilians refuse to slip up.
Meanwhile, the Chloorkop-based outfit made it clear they arenโt ready to give up in the title race. Bafana Ba Style secured a hard-fought 3-2 win against Chippa United at Tuks Stadium on Saturday.
Sundowns currently sit in second place with 60 points. Masandawana has a game in hand over the leaders, Pirates, meaning the title race is far from over as the season reaches its fever pitch.
KAIZER CHIEFS UNBEATEN IN NINE GAMES
On the other hand, Kaizer Chiefs maintained their impressive form and recent resilience under the tutelage of Vela Khumalo.

The Glamour Boys extended their unbeaten streak to nine games following a convincing 5-1 win against Polokwane City FC at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday.
The win keeps the momentum going for the Khumalo-coached side. Amakhosi remain in fourth position on the log, sitting on 46 points from 27 matches as they look to finish the campaign on a high note.
