Siwelele FC DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] stars Keabetswe Khonyane and Tshegofatso Modise are now full first-team members after putting pen to paper on professional contracts with the club.
The Bloemfontein-based side has already emerged as one of the busiest clubs in the market, barely two weeks after the conclusion of the 2025/26 season. Siwelele have secured the services of midfielder Grant Margeman for another campaign by triggering a one-year extension option on his contract, which was set to expire on June 30.
However, a massive squad overhaul is underway. As recently reported by FARPost, the club has decided to part ways with Nyiko Mobbie, Lyle Lakay, Pogiso Sanoka, and Kgaogelo Sekgota, with all four players set to exit when their contracts expire at the end of the month.
Among them, Mobbie is already understood to be on his way to Sekhukhune United. While Siwelele intended to keep him and triggered his one-year option, complex technicalities around the December 2025 deadline meant it couldn’t be legally finalised. Both parties entered open, amicable talks for a fresh deal, but unfortunately hit a deadlock—opening the door for Babina Noko to pounce.
Veteran stars Buhle Mkhwanazi and Samir Nurkovic are also expected to follow them out the exit door following limited game time during the just-ended campaign.
Meanwhile, a fascinating swap of talent is brewing with Orlando Pirates. In-form winger Bohlale Ngwato is reportedly headed to the Buccaneers after catching the eye in his 11 Betway Premiership appearances this past season. Moving in the opposite direction is Sipho Mbule; Siwelele are believed to be leading the chase for the midfielder after Pirates opted against triggering a two-year extension on his contract, leaving him free to sign elsewhere come June 30.
FIRST TEAM CONTRACTS FOR SIWELELE FC DUO

To add on to the transfer business they have already conducted, Siwelele have moved in to offer two reserve team players professional contracts. Khonyane featured in six league games and one Carling Knockout Cup match last season.
But he impressed and has signed a first-team deal. One of his notable outings was capped with a Man of the Match award in a league match against Mamelodi Sundowns in December 2025. Being fully in coach Lehlohonolo Seema’s plans, the 22-year-old defender is tipped for more game time next term.
Joining Khonyane in signing a first-team contract is Modise, who is nicknamed ‘Master Chef.’ The 19-year-old was one of the key Siwelele DDC players last season.
Just like Ngwato and Khonyane, Modise rose through the SuperSport United development ranks. Siwelele acquired the top-flight status of SuperSport United ahead of the just-ended campaign.
