Polokwane City FC snap up Mangaung Unite trio

Mtheto Mosotho signs his contract with Polokwane City FC from Mangaung Unite

Polokwane City FC have bolstered their squad ahead of the new season after securing the services of a talented trio from the SAFA Free State ABC Motsepe League outfit Mangaung Unite.

The Limpopo side has concluded deals for forward Vuyo Kopamotse, midfielder Tshepang Matube, and left-back Mtheto Mosotho.

Kopamotse moves to Rise and Shine after a stellar brief stint with Mangaung Unite. The forward joined the amateur side during the second half of the just-ended season from Kovsie FC, where he caught the eye after hitting the back of the net 10 times.

The Virginia Sports Academy alumnus will now get his first taste of top-flight football in the Betway Premiership.

“We are pleased to announce that Vuyo Kopamotse, who hails from Hertzogville, has signed his first professional contract with Polokwane City FC. His hard work, dedication, and talent have earned him this opportunity at the highest level,” Mangaung Unite confirmed in a statement.

TSHEPANG MATUBE HEADS TO LIMPOPO

Joining Kopamotse in making the big leap to the professional ranks is gifted midfielder Tshepang Matube, popularly known to football fans as ‘Jali’.

The Vaal-born midfielder has been a mainstay for the Free State side, developing through their structures before earning his switch to Phuti Mohafe’s side.

“Jali, who hails from the Vaal, joined us as a young boy and now leaves as a man,” the club stated. “We are proud to have been part of his journey and wish him nothing but success in this exciting new chapter of his career.”

MTHETO MOSOTHO RETURNS TO PROFESSIONAL RANKS

Meanwhile, Polokwane City have also added some much-needed experience to their defensive departments by roping in left-back Mtheto Mosotho.

Unlike his two teammates, Mosotho is no stranger to the demands of the professional tier, having previously turned out in the Motsepe Foundation Championship for the now-defunct JDR Stars.

“We are pleased to announce that Mtheto Mosotho has signed a contract with Betway Premiership side Polokwane City,” the statement added.

“Mosotho will be returning to the professional ranks, having previously featured in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with JDR Stars. His experience and determination have earned him another opportunity to showcase his talent at the highest level.”
