Polokwane City FC have bolstered their attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 PSL season with the signing of forward Lucky Malatsi, FARPost can reveal.
The Limpopo-based outfit secured the striker’s services on a permanent deal from Orbit College FC, who recently got relegated from the Betway Premiership to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Malatsi spent the previous campaign at Orbit having joined them from Lerumo Lions FC. He featured in 13 matches across all competitions and found the back of the net once for the Pogiso Makhoye-coached side.
Prior to his move to Orbit, the forward had been a key figure for Lerumo since their days competing in the SAFA North West ABC Motsepe League. He remained with the club until they secured professional status in the South African second tier ahead of the 2025/26 season.
As a result, Lerumo will be benefiting from Malatsi’s move to Polokwane City, as they will receive a sign-on fee for nurturing his talent during his time at the club in the amateur league.
Lerumo, owned by Sibongile Marokana, purchased the Motsepe Foundation Championship franchise of Pretoria Callies last term. They went on to enjoy a commendable maiden campaign in the professional ranks, finishing seventh on the log with 42 points from 30 matches.
