Betway Premiership side Sekhukhune United has parted ways with attacking midfielder Lesiba Nku ahead of the upcoming season, FARPost has established.

Nku joined Babina Noko during the 2026 January transfer window from Stellenbosch FC as the club sought to bolster its midfield options for the second half of the 2025/26 campaign.

His exit from the Cape Winelands outfit followed a difficult period where game time became scarce. As a result, both parties agreed that a fresh start was necessary. Before the negotiations to cut ties with Stellies, Nku had reportedly been sidelined from senior team training and instructed to train on his own.

Now, after just six months with the Limpopo-based side, the player is on the move again.

Since arriving at Sekhukhune, the talented attacker managed to feature in 10 matches across all competitions, mostly coming off the bench. He provided one assist, and played a total of 413 minutes on the pitch.

In addition, the player helped the Limpopo club reach the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals, where they suffered a shock defeat to Motsepe Foundation Championship side Milford FC on penalties. The quarter-final tie ended in a 2-2 draw after extra time, with Milford ultimately winning the penalty shootout 3-2.

Nku was initially delighted to be at the club from Stellies. He made his debut for Babina Noko against TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday, 1 February. Sekhukhune managed to secure a 1-0 victory on the day, thanks to a goal from veteran forward Bradley Grobler.

Speaking after his debut game against the Rockets, Nku expressed his relief and excitement at being back on the field.

“Yoh! What a game! But I’m happy to be here, to get some minutes, and to stay fit,” Nku said at the time.

“I’m looking forward to playing more games. Honestly, I’m delighted to be here and play football.”

With his short stint at Babina Noko now at an end, it remains to be seen where the former Mamelodi Sundowns man will land ahead of the new season.
