Motsepe Foundation Championship side The Bees FC have beefed up their technical team ahead of the upcoming season following the appointment of former Kaizer Chiefs development coach Sundra Govinder and Velile Zitha.
The duo will serve as assistant coaches to head coach Duncan Lechesa, who was recently handed the head coaching reins at the Mpumalanga-based outfit.
As previously reported by FARPost on 20 June, The Bees moved swiftly to fill their vacant head coaching post, roping in the experienced Lechesa as their new mentor. This follows the departure of Joel Masutha, who left the club to take up the assistant coaching role at newly promoted Betway Premiership outfit, Kruger United.
Masutha will serve under head coach Abram Mongoya, who successfully guided Kruger to the SA second-tier title and automatic promotion to the SA elite league last season.
Interestingly, this is not the first time Lechesa and Govinder will be working together. The duo previously served as co-coaches at Black Leopards last campaign.
The pair will be hoping for better fortunes at their new home after a difficult spell with Lidoda Duvha. The former PSL side suffered relegation to the SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League. Leopards dropped down to the third tier after finishing 15th on the Motsepe Foundation Championship log standings with just 28 points from 30 games last season.

THE BEES’ OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON NEW TECHNICAL TEAM APPOINTMENTS
The club officially confirmed the structural changes to their technical bench in a statement released on Tuesday, 23 June.
“The Bees FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Duncan Lechesa as the club’s Head Coach,” the club announced.
“Coach Lechesa brings valuable experience, leadership, and a strong passion for football. He will be assisted by Sundra Govinder and Velile Zitha, who join the technical team as Assistant Coaches.
“We warmly welcome Coach Lechesa, Coach Govinder [and Coach Zitha] to The Bees FC family and wish them every success as they lead the team into an exciting new chapter.”
