Marumo Gallants have managed to tie down defender Marvin Sikhosana amidst strong interest from two Betway Premiership sides, Golden Arrows and Polokwane City FC, FARPost can reveal.
The 31-year-old centre-back has been a key pillar for Gallants’ backline since joining the Bloemfontein-based outfit as a free agent in August 2023.
In the just-ended 2025/26 campaign, Sikhosana established himself as a regular starter for Bahlabane Ba Ntwa. He featured in 32 games across all competitions, putting in commanding performances that caught the attention of top-flight rivals.
Furthermore, Sikhosana’s experience and leadership at the back helped Gallants survive the relegation zone, as the club finished the season in 14th position with 25 points after 30 league games.
WHY MARVIN SIKHOSANA IS STAYING PUT AT MARUMO GALLANTS
According to an insider, the club acted swiftly to fend off suitors by offering the defender improved terms to remain in the Free State.
“The player ended up staying at Marumo Gallants as the club managed to convince him and his representative,” a source close to this publication revealed.
“They managed to come up with a better contract because the club was still interested in his services.”

In addition, FARPost has it on good authority that the defender has signed a new two-year contract with Abram Sello-owned side, with an option to extend for another season.
The news comes as a massive boost to Gallants, especially after the club recently lost another key defender, Katekani Mhlongo, who completed a move to TS Galaxy, as previously reported by FARPost.
Keeping Sikhosana ensures coach Phuti Mohafe retains crucial stability and continuity in his defensive department ahead of the new season.
Sikhosana boasts extensive experience in South African football, having previously turned out for teams such as Mbombela United, Witbank Spurs, Polokwane City FC, and Free State Stars.
