Motsepe Foundation Championship side Cape Town City FC has parted ways with five players ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 season, with Keagan Dolly leading the high-profile list of exits.

The Cape-based outfit confirmed the clear-out list on Thursday, 2 July 2026, validating an exclusive report by FARPost last month.

Alongside the former Bafana Bafana international, Dolly, the other four players departing the club are defender Njabulo Ngcobo, Bosnian forward Dzenan Zajmovic, left-back Sifiso Ngobeni, and midfielder Siphamandla Dondolo.

The squad restructuring follows a bittersweet 2025/26 campaign for The Citizens, who missed out on a return to the South African top-flight.

Cape Town City finished as runners-up in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after collecting 54 points from their 30 league outings. It was Kruger United who beat them to the automatic Betway Premiership promotion spot, finishing comfortably at the summit of the log standings with 62 points.

The Mother City club was handed a secondary lifeline via the PSL Promotional/Relegation Playoffs. However, their efforts fell short. They finished rock bottom of the three-team mini-log, accumulating just four points from their four playoff matches, ultimately failing to secure the coveted top-flight ticket.
