Sekhukhune United’s recruitment drive ahead of the 2026/27 season has gathered momentum with the arrival of two more players, Givemore Khupe and Athenkosi Mcaba.
Coach Cedric Kaze is assembling a squad that he seeks to guide to a better campaign after Sekhukhune finished last season fifth on the Betway Premiership table. Earlier this week, the Burundian signed players such as Oageng Phiri, Thabang Mahlangu and D’Angelo Kazeem.
They are added to a squad that welcomed Nyiko Mobbie back from Siwelele FC, as well as Gomolemo Khoto and Siyabonga Ndlozi, who completed permanent transfers from Orlando Pirates.
Mobbie will be pushing for game time against another right-back, Tshepho Mashiloane, who has signed a new season-long loan contract from the Buccaneers after spending last season at Sekhukhune. Returning from loan stints at Durban City FC are wingers Ronaldo Maarman and Siphiwe Mahlangu.
Now, Khupe and Mcaba are the latest additions. As first reported by FARPost, former Moroka Swallows midfielder Khupe is back in the top-flight league after spending the last two seasons in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with Upington City FC.
This publication also recently reported that centre-back Mcaba has joined Sekhukhune as a free agent after his Stellenbosch FC contract expired.
SEKHUKHUNE UNITED CONTINUE WITH TRANSFER BUSINESS AFTER GIVEMORE KHUPE AND ATHENKOSI MCABA ARRIVAL

Kaze continues to bolster his squad in what appears to be a busy transfer window for Babina Noko.
“Sekhukhune United Football Club is pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Givemore Khuphe and defender Athenkosi Mcaba,” Sekhukhune announced on Friday.
“Both players have officially joined Babina Noko and are already settling into life at the club as preparations continue for the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
“Khuphe and Mcaba add quality, determination and ambition to the squad, and the club is confident they will make a valuable contribution. We warmly welcome Givemore and Athenkosi to the Babina Noko Family.”
Meanwhile, Kaze has opted not to keep the Congolese duo of Tresor Tshibwabwa and Any Boyeli, who have been released. They have been offloaded together with the experienced winger Shaune Mogaila.
They follow through the exit door, the likes of Thabang Monare, Rivaldo Coetzee, Bradley Grobler, Ryan Baartman, Katlego Mohamme and Sikhosonke Langa. Former captain Linda Mntambo has hung up his boots.
