Sekhukhune United have announced the return of striker Chibuike Ohizu, continuing to strengthen their squad for the 2026/27 season.
The Nigerian footballer has re-joined Babina Noko for a second stint after spending the previous campaign with Betway Premiership rivals Siwelele FC. Ohizu left Sekhukhune at the start of last season after falling out of favour at the club under the then-head coach Eric Tinkler.
The goal-poacher was released by Sekhukhune following the arrival of experienced striker Bradley Grobler, who became the first-choice option in the striking department.
In the 2025/26 season, Grobler scored 11 goals and chipped in with two assists in 26 appearances across all competitions in his first season with Sekhukhune.

On the other hand, Ohizu had to look for regular playing minutes elsewhere as the veteran striker, Grobler, established himself as a reliable figure at Sekhukhune.
Following Grobler’s exit at the end of the previous campaign, Sekhukhune decided to re-sign Ohizu, who struggled for game time at Siwelele. The 29-year-old only registered 15 matches in all competitions for the Bloemfontein-based side and found the back of the net on two occasions.
Sekhukhune United announced the return of Chibuike Ohizu on Thursday, and he will be looking to regain his best form under the new coach, Cedric Kaze. The latter was announced as Sekhukhune United’s head coach ahead of the new season, following his departure from Kaizer Chiefs.

Before leaving Sekhukhune, Ohizu spent five seasons with the club, having signed in the 2020/21 season from Jomo Cosmos. In his first stint, he featured in 126 games and scored 32 goals.
The forward’s familiarity with the club’s culture is expected to provide a massive boost to the team’s attacking options for the new campaign
