FARPost can confirm that Lerumo Lions FC and TS Galaxy have finally reached a club-to-club agreement over the transfer of talented midfielder Siphesihle Tati ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Rockets have acquired the services of the 21-year-old attacking midfielder on a long-term contract. The deal was finalised on Thursday, 16 July, following successful direct negotiations between the two clubs.
As previously reported by this publication, the Motsepe Foundation Championship side, Lerumo, had given the green light for the player to train with the Tim Sukazi-owned club to undergo assessment.
The gifted attacking midfielder did not disappoint, quickly impressing the TS Galaxy technical team led by Kaizer Chiefs legend Bernard Parker during his trial stint.
SIPHESIHLE TATI’S JOURNEY TO THE BETWAY PREMIERSHIP
Tati’s football development journey started in Naturena with the Chiefs Under-17 team at the tender age of 14, before his consistent performances earned him a well-deserved promotion to the club’s reserve side.
He originally signed for Lerumo in August last year following his departure from Chiefs‘ DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] side.
Tati was one of the instrumental players when Amakhosi’s reserve team sealed a historic triumph in the DDC during the 2024/25 season, ending their 10-year trophy drought since the inception of the reserve league.
The youngster cut ties with the Soweto giants at the conclusion of the 2024/25 DDC campaign.
Before heading out to the Mpumalanga-based Betway Premiership side, Tati had penned a contract extension with Lerumo Lions. As a result, this required Galaxy to negotiate a direct transfer fee to trigger the move from the Sibongile Marokana-owned club.
Having proven himself in the Lerumo colours in the last term, Tati will now look to establish himself as a household name in South Africa’s top-flight under the guidance of coach Bernard Parker.
Tati is a versatile midfielder who operates as either a central or attacking midfielder. Actively functioning as the team’s playmaker, he dictates the tempo of the game and links the defence to the attack. He is technically comfortable on the ball and relies on his passing range and vision to create scoring opportunities for his teammates.
