TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has revealed that no club has approached the Rockets regarding highly rated winger Seluleko Mahlambi, despite growing speculation about his future.
Mahlambi enjoyed a breakthrough 2025/26 campaign after earning promotion from the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side, finishing the season with seven goals and five assists to establish himself as one of the Betway Premiership’s standout young talents.
In recent weeks, the 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, particularly amid uncertainty over the future of DR Congo international Glody Lilepo, who is reportedly closing in on a switch to Al Ahly Benghazi.
However, Sukazi insists the transfer talk has been driven largely by supporters and social media, revealing that TS Galaxy have not received a single enquiry for Mahlambi and have no intention of parting ways with him ahead of the 2026/27 season.
TIM SUKAZI: ‘MAHLAMBI IS STAYING PUT’
“I’ve read that some clubs are interested in him, and it all excited their supporters. But I can tell them now, there’s not a single club that has spoken to us about Mahlambi. So he is staying put,” Sukazi said on the sidelines of the club’s pre-season prayer event in Pretoria West.
Sukazi reserved special praise for the former Cape Town City FC youngster, whom he believes has the potential to become an important player for both club and country.
“He was good last season. We hope he can just continue and do better than he did last year.”
While TS Galaxy have built a reputation for selling players, Sukazi suggested the club is becoming increasingly selective as it looks to establish itself among the league’s top sides.
“We have the extraordinary ability to dispose of our best talent and still reinforce our project, but we’re doing that with caution. You know, this league is very tough. As we develop these players, as they become stronger in the league, we will probably, at some stage or another, become compelled to retain them.”
PARKER BACKS MAHLAMBI TO REACH GREATER HEIGHTS
TS Galaxy head coach Bernard Parker, who played an instrumental role in Mahlambi’s rise, believes the winger’s best years are still ahead of him. He revealed that he identified Mahlambi’s potential while coaching the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side.
“With Seluleko, I know him from my time when I was in the DDC. I took him in when he was released by Cape Town City,” Parker told journalists.
“When I went to the senior team, I told the coaches, ‘You have to bring this boy up because he is something special.’ Immediately, he joined the first team, he hit the ground running and what a good season he had last season.”
The former Bafana Bafana striker described Mahlambi as a modern winger capable of troubling defenders with his movement and unpredictability.
“He is your modern winger in terms of being problematic, attacking the space behind and also playing between the lines. He is very unpredictable,” Parker said.
Parker added that he would welcome the opportunity to continue working with Mahlambi for at least another season.
“Here at TS Galaxy, we build, and we sell. But at this moment, we feel it’s not quite the right time to move… I wouldn’t want to lose him. It would be a plus to have him for another year. I know how much he will give to the team this coming season.”
