Willard Katsande is on the move again in Zimbabwe, quitting Eastern Region Soccer League side Grand Legacy FC to finalise a deal with Green Fuel FC—marking his third coaching job in just five months
The former Kaizer Chiefs and Sekhukhune United midfielder previously had brief stints at First Division outfit Rangers FC before taking charge of Grand Legacy FC in his maiden season on the bench.
He returned to Zimbabwe in March at the start of the 2026 season to join Rangers FC, but the two parted ways after a few games due to issues that included poor living conditions and non-remuneration.
Rangers FC are competing in the Northern Region Soccer League, one of the four First Division leagues in Zimbabwe. Katsande went on to join Eastern Region Soccer League side Grand Legacy FC in May.
WILLARD KATSANDE SET TO JOIN GREEN FUEL FC AFTER GRAND LEGACY FC EXIT
The retired midfielder tendered his resignation to Grand Legacy FC on Friday as he prepares to join Green Fuel FC in the same First Division league. This time around, Katsande appears to have accepted a better offer from a club pushing for a return to top-flight football in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
In his resignation letter seen by FARPost, Katsande said: “It is with a heavy heart that I write to you, informing you of my decision to step down from the position of Head Coach at Grand Legacy with immediate effect.
“The decision has been arrived at due to some commitments that have arisen. I would like to convey my sincere gratitude to you and the entire Grand Legacy team for affording me the opportunity to grow in my career as a coach.
“I will forever cherish this opportunity because it saw me get my first reward as a coach, winning the Eastern Region Soccer League May Coach of the Month.”
Katsande leaves Grand Legacy FC in fourth position with 35 points in the 19-team league after 18 rounds of fixtures.
