Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom has officially completed a move to Indonesian outfit Borneo FC ahead of the new season. Borneo announced the signing of the South African midfielder on Monday night.
Blom had been a free agent following his departure from Vietnamese club Nam Dinh FC in May 2026. The 26-year-old left the Southeast Asian side without making a single competitive appearance.
The Amakhosi youth academy graduate joined Nam Dinh in July 2025 after cutting ties with Major League Soccer [MLS] side St. Louis City SC.
However, his spell in Vietnam was heavily disrupted by a serious injury sustained shortly after his arrival, which required surgery and put him on the sidelines for quite some time.
Blom’s departure at Nam Dinh was followed by that of his fellow countryman, Percy Tau. The former Bafana Bafana forward moved to Vietnam in August 2025 as a free agent. He completed the move after leaving the Qatar Stars League side Qatar SC at the end of the 2024/25 season.

In an official statement, the Indonesian club confirmed the arrival of the midfielder to boost their squad.
“You’re welcome, Njabulo Blom! The South African midfielder is officially part of Borneo FC. With his strength, determination and quality on the field, Blom is ready to give a new colour in the Pesut Etam celebration,” reads the club’s statement.
Meanwhile, according to local reports, Blom was linked with a move to the Betway Premiership side Stellenbosch FC. However, negotiations between the two parties collapsed before a deal could be finalised. This paved the way for his move to Indonesia.
Blom will now be eager to put his recent injury woes behind him, regain his best form, and revive his career at his new club.
