Kaizer Chiefs’ new signing Faiz Abrahams has opened up on what influenced his decision to join the Soweto giants from Stellenbosch FC.
Abrahams made the switch to the Glamour Boys on a season-long loan deal, which includes an option to make the move permanent at the end of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign.
Chiefs officially confirmed the acquisition of the 21-year-old on Thursday, 6 August, as Fernando da Cruz’s side continues to bolster its squad for the new season.
His arrival at Naturena comes amid squad movements between the two clubs in the current transfer window period. Just a day before Abrahams was unveiled by Chiefs, Stellies completed the signing of Amakhosi DStv Diski Challenge defender Gopolang Taunyana.
In addition, the Winelands-based outfit also secured the permanent transfers of defender Given Msimango and forward Ashley Du Preez from Chiefs during the week.
Chiefs, on the other hand, have snapped up South African youth international Langelihle Phili on a permanent deal from the Gavin Hunt-led outfit.

In an interview with the Amakhosi media team, the young talent expressed his delight at sealing the move to Naturena, highlighting the club’s rich history and track record of nurturing young talent as his primary motivations.
“I am very happy to join Kaizer Chiefs. It is an honour to be here at one of the biggest clubs in Africa,” Abrahams said.
“They have won a lot of trophies. So, that’s what attracted me most. They have a history of giving opportunities to young players.”
Abrahams will be hoping to hit the ground running and establish himself as a key figure in the squad as Chiefs look to compete for silverware in the new PSL term.
